The new Greenfield Village roundhouse.

08/18/00

The Greenfield Village roundhouse. It was built from the ground up around the existing turntable, and opened a few months ago. It is a re-creation of a roundhouse at Marshall, MI.

A view of a steam crane and an Atlantic on display in the roundhouse. Note how short the roundhouse tracks are...not long enough to store an engine and tender.

The engine "Torch Lake" getting boiler work.

An Atlantic being re-built.

Some of the tools in the roundhouse.

The underside of the Atlantic in the last stall. Visitors can walk under the engine.
